“HEALTH AT FIRST SIGHT” was the inspirational thought that crossed the owner’s mind when she felt the urge to stop on her pilgrimage passing Cuerres to admire the view and the peaceful surroundings in front of the brook where Reposo del Andayón was built between 2015-2017. This property is unique in Asturias and will attract those who are truly looking to enjoy a calm and healthy home that integrates so well with the lush Asturian countryside and the amazing coastline between Llanes and Ribadesella. Great care was taken in the design with a total area that spans 746.15 m² on a large flat plot of 5,000 m² which is designed as a permaculture project featuring a very wide variety of edible berries and fruit trees. The B&B -ECO-HOTEL has 5 x large double en-suite rooms There are 2 larger ones on the top floor and 3 on the ground floor each with their private terraces and tasteful furnishings.
The Hostel area has a separate entrance to the top floor and can lodge pilgrims in a 10 pax communal dormitory which can be used for different activities such as games room or as a yoga hall and there are 2 full shower-rooms to serve this area.
The Owner’s apartment occupies 1 far wing of the property and although on the premises has the feeling of seclusion due to it’s enourmous deck and covered terrace that blends in to the South-West side of the property, ideal for relaxing in the late afternoon. It is spacious and could easily fit a kitchenette if required.
The Guest apartment is adjacent to the owner’s apartment and it can be rented as a Master Suite, also with it’s private terrace and spacious lounge area.
The common areas are the welcoming light and airy Reception area which is L-shaped and opens out on to the lounge-diner that corresponds to the B&B area. There is another larger diner which can be used by both or exclusively for the hostel. In the center of the two a good-size most practical farmhouse kitchen with modern features with serving hatches to both diners and a good size pantry. This makes it very functional for both private guests and customers to use the soul of the home at once. There are numerouos doors leading from this living area out on to covered shady terraces for the summer or directly out in to the wonderful garden area to enjoy the rising sun. There is a hexagonal 30 m² heated Yurt on the South garden amongst a variety of fruit trees. Every corner of this natural garden is guaranteed to awake the senses and inspire you each day as you cross the brook that flows from east to west and observe the activity of the goldfish in their element of sparkling clean recycled water.
This is a wonderfuly inviting bio-climatic dwelling. A passive house, built entirely with Finnish Kuusamo Timber, raised on stilts offering a remarkable resistance to humidity, exceptional insulation and a warm and cosy interior where temperature is homogeneous throughout and air is purified constantly with perfectly installed aerothermal systems throughout.
The Location:
Located directly on the Camino de Santiago, in the romantic historical area boasting so much heritage halfway between LLanes and Ribadesella. Only 5′ drive from the property there is a short distance train that runs all year, communicating Santander via Llanes with Oviedo. There is no end to beautiful walks and natural attractions in this area (we have a separate list available on request)
Communications/connections:
The main roads and motorways are far enough away not be heard and protected by the greenery yet a short 10 min drive via narrow ancient country lanes that lead the most discerning to this peaceful paradise. Towns of Llanes and Ribadesella are both max 20 min slow drive and the larger cities of Gijón, Oviedo or Santander 50-70 mins. The airports are equally 1.20h to Asturias and 55 mins to Santander. Fibre Optic is now being offered and installed throughout all rural areas in Asturias and can be contracted although at present internet is still functioning at an acceptable speed.
